In an interview, Bates expressed his focus on the present, acknowledging the benefits of the NFL-imposed silence that has prevented him from engaging in discussions with potential suitors. 

I believe it's crucial to keep the primary focus on the primary objective," Bates stated. "My primary objective is being a Michigan Panther. Fortunately, NFL teams are prohibited from contacting me. It's a blessing in disguise and not a concern at all. Ultimately, the ultimate goal is to win a championship with the Panthers.

However, with the UFL season set to conclude on June 16, Bates' future with the Detroit Lions is poised to take center stage. The young kicker's exceptional talent and unwavering focus have positioned him as a potential game-changer in the NFL, and Lions fans are eagerly anticipating his arrival.
