Eminem Fans Eagerly Await "Tobey" Video
Eminem fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the music video for his new single "Tobey," featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. However, the Detroit rap legend has just announced that the video's release has been pushed back.
In a tweet, Eminem apologized for the delay, explaining that the "Tobey" video is not yet completed. But he didn't leave fans empty-handed - he shared a brief snippet of the upcoming visuals to tide them over until the official release next Monday, July 8th.
The snippet shows Eminem sitting on the steps of the iconic house featured on the cover of his classic 2000 album "The Marshall Mathers LP." As BabyTron walks by, it's a nostalgic nod to Eminem's roots in Detroit.
The Tobey video is not completed- new date Monday 7/8," Eminem wrote. "Here's a peek in the meantime!!! Sorry 4 the delay.
Eminem Addresses Critics in "Tobey"
This delay comes just days after Eminem released "Tobey," which has already sparked some interesting reactions online. The track finds Eminem asserting his dominance in the rap game and addressing those who have questioned his place among the all-time greats.
Ain't feelin' your top five favorite rappers/ So I know they 'bout to be pissed at me/ But this, to me, is a mystery/ How rappers I've already ripped could be/ Higher up on a list than me/ Yet here I sit on your list though at five (Hm), which still was fine/ But just know inside, to me, that shit's hilarious, he raps.
Eminem also takes aim at Melle Mel, a pioneering rapper who recently criticized Eminem's standing in hip-hop history.
When I get dissed though and by a pioneer/ Who was one of the reasons why I am here/ They tell me I should just let that shit go and slide/ 'Melle Mel shouldn't get no reply'/ 'That man is a legend,' bitch, so am I," Eminem fires back.
Eminem Prepares for "The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe De Grâce)"
The delay of the "Tobey" video comes as Eminem prepares to release his 12th studio album, "The Death of Slim Shady (Coupe De Grâce)," on July 12th. Last month, he kicked off the album's rollout by publishing an obituary for his fictional alter ego, Slim Shady, in the Detroit Free Press.
With the highly anticipated album on the way and the "Tobey" video just around the corner, Eminem fans are sure to be on the edge of their seats. While they'll have to wait a few more days for the full visual experience, the sneak peek has only heightened the excitement.
