Fort Worth, Texas — The hip-hop community is reeling from the sudden loss of Channing Nicole Larry, better known by her stage name, Enchanting. The 26-year-old rapper, who gained prominence as a Gucci Mane’s 1017 Records member, passed away unexpectedly.

Enchanting emerged in 2020 when she joined Gucci Mane’s revamped 1017 label. Her distinctive voice and raw talent quickly set her apart. She collaborated with artists like Pooh Shiesty, Big Scarr, and Foogiano and contributed to the label’s success. Hits like “Want Sum,” “O.P.P,” and “Track & Field” resonated with fans and streamed across platforms.

In 2022, Enchanting released her major label debut, No Luv, featuring guest appearances from KenTheMan, Coi Leray, and Key Glock. The album showcased her versatility, blending melodic hooks with hard-hitting verses. She followed it up with the deluxe edition, Luv Scarred / No Luv, in 2023.

Enchanting’s path to music began unexpectedly.

I went through a phase of doing absolutely everything,” she once revealed. “Like, I was a cheerleader. I was into sports at one point. I was doing hair at one point. I tried to do nails.

But fate intervened when a friend introduced her to a recording studio. Her soulful voice caught attention, and she started sharing her talent online.

News of Enchanting’s passing spread rapidly on social media. Her sister, Kayy’Jayy, posted heartfelt throwback pictures, expressing love and grief. Fellow Texas rapper LilCJ Kasino lamented,

You f**ked the gang up with this one.

Fans, friends, and collaborators flooded timelines with messages of sorrow and remembrance.

Earlier this week, erroneous reports prematurely announced Enchanting’s death, leading to confusion. Her sister clarified that she was on life support. However, the devastating news became a reality on June 11, 2024.

Enchanting’s legacy extends beyond her music. She embodied resilience, creativity, and authenticity. As we mourn her loss, we celebrate the impact she made during her brief but impactful career.

Remembering Enchanting, we honor her spirit and the music that touched our hearts. Rest in power, Enchanting.
